IAHD Rotors to Regulators Program

American Heroes in Diving!

Indian Valley Scuba, in conjunction with the International Association for Handicapped Divers, is currently working with the United States Army to secure several CH-47 Chinook helicopters for sinking at selected dive training sites in the region.

The Rotors to Regulators program is dedicated to helping our combat-wounded veterans return to civilian life after the service, and to resume or begin a full range of healthy lifetstyle and sports activities. Many of these heroes would never have had the opportunity to enjoy sport of scuba diving without a properly skilled scuba training facility to support the program

Selected groups of wounded and disabled American military veterans will participate in each of the selected site programs. IAHD will provide complete scuba certification training and after the classroom and pool sessions, the divers will complete their open water checkout dives with a graduation dive on the newly sunk helicopters!

Indian Valley Scuba's skilled staff of IAHD-trained dive professionals fills this role to a 'T'!  We conduct our classes in fully accessible ADA-compliant facilities, and our adaptive gear configurations are designed to accomodate any special need or challenge. Our current military disabled programs have us working with veterans of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY. We are excited about bringing this program to the Northeast.

Call us at 866-685-IAHD or come back to this web site for more information on this and other exciting adaptive scuba programs!

SCREAMING EAGLES

The “SCREAMING EAGLES” of the 101st Airborne Transitional Battalion have formed a dive club called “EAGLE DIVERS”.  The club is a newly formed Non-profit organization and their motto is “SOLDIERS HELPING SOLDIERS”.  The group is committed to train and certify wounded soldiers in SCUBA.  The club differs from all of the National organizations in that they realize that the entire family of the Soldier is struggling with not just having their family in Harm’s Way but all of the rehabilitation and the changes in their loved one after being wounded.  This group will work with the Soldier and any family member in learning to SCUBA dive or Snorkel.  The point is that this will assist in bringing the family closer and build confidence in themselves to move on with life after being injured.  The group not only arranges for training but sets up several trips within the United States to provide opportunities for the Soldiers and their families to enjoy the adventure of SCUBA diving.  The most resent was to Key Largo, Florida where the entire community stepped up and provided them lodging, meals, travel expenses and SCUBA diving.  They were also treated to a guided tour of the Florida Keys History of Diving Museum and a swim with the dolphins at Island Dolphin Care.
